Very nice Chinu ! I like the way you defined religion. As you said, it is a way of life and this way can be different for different people based on their beliefs. All ways are valid and equal, none is superior or inferior to others.
Lets take a step back and think how a first religion would have started ?
Thousands of year back, group of people practiced certain way of life - work assignment, trade, traditions, law, beliefs for unknown/unanswered things like god etcetera. They started calling this way of life - a religion. Anyone who follows this way of life belonged to that religion. Thousands of years back, the world was spread out and less connected; many places in the world such religions emerged. In the major religion list - Hinduism is the oldest religion started 4000 BC while the newest is Islam started in 6th century AD.
A religion is a way of belief given different names and traditions.
